Whether you’re dating, engaged, married, or in a long-term committed relationship, this workshop offers practical strategies to help you better understand one another and navigate life’s challenges as a team.

No relationship is perfect. Whether you’re doing well and want to grow stronger or you’ve noticed communication becoming more difficult, this workshop is designed to help you strengthen your relationship and build healthier patterns together.

This workshop is open to the community. You do not have to be a current client of The Well to participate.

Beyond 50/50 is a psychoeducational relationship enrichment workshop and is not couples therapy.

Workshop expectations, confidentiality information, participation requirements, and informed consent will be reviewed as part of the registration process.

Workshop Details

Choose the Format That Works Best for You

Option 1: 3-Part Workshop Series

This format allows couples to learn and practice skills over three weeks, with each session building upon the previous one.
July 8, 15, & 22, 2026 from 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM

Option 2: One-Day Intensive Workshop

Prefer a single-day option? Attend one of our 3-hour workshop sessions covering the same core concepts in a condensed format.
Saturday, July 11, 2026
Session One: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM or
Session Two: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Participants only need to register for one session. Both sessions cover the same workshop content.

Please read this agreement carefully before registering for the workshop. Beyond 50/50 is a psychoeducational relationship enrichment workshop designed to provide education, practical skills, guided discussions, and evidence-based tools to strengthen healthy relationships. This workshop is educational in nature and is not couples therapy, psychotherapy, crisis intervention, legal advice, medical treatment, or case management. Participation in this workshop does not establish a therapist-client relationship with the facilitators or The Well. This workshop is not appropriate for individuals or couples experiencing a mental health emergency, domestic violence, an active relationship crisis, or circumstances requiring intensive clinical intervention. Participants who may benefit from a higher level of care may be referred to appropriate services. Participants registering for the three-session workshop are encouraged to attend all sessions, as each session builds upon previous material. Participants attending the one-day workshop should plan to remain for the entire workshop to receive the greatest benefit. The Well is committed to providing a respectful and supportive learning environment. Participants are expected to respect the privacy of others and refrain from discussing personal information shared during the workshop outside the group. Because this is an educational workshop rather than a therapy service, confidentiality cannot be guaranteed. While facilitators will encourage participants to maintain confidentiality, other participants are not bound by professional confidentiality laws. Participants are expected to treat facilitators and fellow participants with courtesy and respect, allow others an opportunity to participate, maintain appropriate personal boundaries, refrain from harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behavior, avoid sharing graphic or highly detailed personal relationship information, and follow facilitator instructions and workshop guidelines. Participants who are unable to follow these expectations may be asked to leave the workshop without a refund. This workshop is intended for couples seeking relationship education and practical communication skills. Registration includes screening questions to help determine whether the workshop is an appropriate fit. Based on the information provided, The Well may recommend couples therapy or other services that better meet a participant's needs. Participation is subject to facilitator approval. Registration is required to reserve a seat. Because seating is limited and materials are prepared in advance, registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. If The Well cancels or reschedules the workshop, participants will be contacted regarding available options. By selecting the agreement checkbox, I acknowledge that I have read and understand this Workshop Participation Agreement. I understand that this workshop is educational in nature and is not therapy or counseling. I understand that participation does not establish a therapist-client relationship related to this workshop. I understand that confidentiality cannot be guaranteed by other participants. I understand that my registration may be reviewed to determine whether this workshop is an appropriate fit. I understand that registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable except if The Well cancels or reschedules the workshop. I voluntarily choose to participate and agree to follow the workshop expectations described above.

Many couples attend workshops to strengthen communication and connection during difficult seasons. However, couples experiencing significant safety concerns, active domestic violence, or situations requiring intensive therapeutic support may be referred to more appropriate services.

Because registration fees are non-refundable, participants are encouraged to attend the workshop format they can fully commit to attending.

Space is limited to 8 couples in the 3-part series and 8 couples in each one-day workshop session.

Just bring yourselves, an open mind, and a willingness to learn and grow together. Any necessary materials will be provided.

Meet the Facilitators

Yasmeen “Yaz” Duarte, MCMHC Student Intern

Yaz is a counseling intern completing her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. She is passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families strengthen relationships, navigate life transitions, and build emotional resilience. Her approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), attachment theory, and a collaborative, strengths-based perspective that emphasizes healthy communication, personal growth, and meaningful connection. Yaz is committed to creating a supportive environment where participants feel respected, understood, and empowered to make positive changes in their relationships.

Ashley Barksdale, EdD, LCSW

Dr. Ashley Barksdale is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Family Life Educator, Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional. She is the owner of The Well: Family Support and has extensive experience working with individuals, couples, and families. Ashley combines clinical expertise with practical relationship education to help couples strengthen communication, deepen connection, and develop skills for navigating life’s challenges together.
